TIES (Sansan, Stephen)
South Jakarta, Indonesia
This temporary residence was particularly interesting, because it was placed on rooftop of busy shop house in South Jakarta. The idea of this pavilion was to make oasis for the user in this busy city. Vertical greenery and pond were main features of this pavilion, so that the user can enjoy little escape from her busy schedule. Gable roof for its architectural form was a mimesis of traditional gable house, that reminded us the homey feel. Simple room functions were programmed for this pavilion, as the user wanted to live a minimalism and practical life. Open layout for the gathering space was to maximize the limited space that available. Closed space only for the bedroom to keep the user’s privacy.
